Project Management

Master the art of getting things done. Create tasks, organize projects, and collaborate with your team using powerful views and real-time communication.

Tasks

Tasks are the fundamental unit of work in Surgio. Each task can contain rich descriptions, subtasks, comments, and attachments.

Creating Tasks

Press C anywhere in the application to open the quick create dialog.

Task Properties

Title & Description
Rich text editor with markdown support
Assignees
Assign to multiple team members
Priority
Urgent, High, Medium, Low
Due Date
Syncs with Google Calendar

Projects

Projects organize your tasks into logical groups. Use them to track sprints, manage client work, or organize departmental goals.

List View

See all tasks in a scannable list. Perfect for bulk editing and getting an overview.

Board View

Kanban-style columns for visual workflow management. Drag and drop to update status.

Calendar View

See tasks plotted on a calendar by due date. Syncs with Google Calendar.

Inbox

The Inbox is your team's communication hub. Chat with team members in real-time, share updates, and collaborate directly within Surgio.

Team Conversations

Access the Inbox from the sidebar to view all your team conversations:

  • Direct messages with individual team members
  • Group conversations for project discussions
  • Real-time messaging with typing indicators
  • Convert messages into tasks

Notifications

Stay informed about everything happening in your workspace. The Notifications page aggregates all important updates in one place.

What You'll See

Access Notifications from the bell icon in the header. You'll receive notifications for:

  • Tasks assigned to you
  • Comments on tasks you're following
  • @mentions in comments or descriptions
  • Project invitations and role changes
  • Meeting reminders and calendar updates
  • Task status changes
  • Due date reminders

Managing Notifications

Click any notification to mark it as read and navigate to the related item. Configure which notifications you receive in Settings → Notifications.
